CLOSING THE DIGITAL DIVIDE

We have deployed a league of Digital Computing Librarians in each village to help tribal citizens with the digital inclusion process and strengthen digital literacy for all individuals-- from home connectivity, to assistance for federal and state internet refund benefits, free Wi-Fi workstations and devices,  work skills training to improve digital skills -- supporting remote and in-person guidance for all individuals.

Our new program is to promote and support information access in tribal communities with emphasis on current technology and tribal library development. Our library centers are on tribal lands, and includes internet access, collections, archives, language repositories, and is a gateway to local, state, and federal service programs, learning centers, and a community gathering place. We are a qualified participant in  the E-Rate Universal Service Program for Schools and Libraries. 

Our Broadband Resource Internet Centers are community hubs that bring connectivity and digital tools to you. We help individuals and families to safely and securely navigate the digital world with the tools and support customized to your village needs. Sign up for home Wi-Fi, get technical support, use a VTC for telehealth visits, use the free Wi-Fi hotspot, meeting room space, and so much more.  .

No matter your connection, we have a technology roadmap that will create a YK Tribal Village Network that is affordable and sustainable that is managed by tribes, for tribes. Your village will generate revenue from data usage on the YK Tribal Village Network. The Consortium will continue to seek federal and state funds to connect the last mile networks to an affordable middle mile and buy LEO and GEO capacity.
